What is Natural Horsemanship?

Natural Horsemanship is taking the world by storm. It is the fastest growing method of training and instruction in the industry, acquiring dedicated converts in every facet and discipline of the equine world!

Simply put, Natural Horsemanship is a better way of communicating wiht horses! It is the philosophy of working and playing with horses by appealing to their instincts and herd mentality. It involves communication techniques derived from the observation of wild horses in order to build a partnership that closely resembles the relationships that exist between two horses.

Practitioners of Natural Horsemanship play with horses in a manner which works with the horse's behavior, instincts and personality in a kind manner. They have learned when and how to use their eyes, movements, and body energy to communicate with horses, speaking the natural language of horses, enabling previously unheard of feats of human/equine partnership. Techniques promoted by Chelsie Kallestad teach the horse handler to speak the horse's language, focusing on communication, rather than fear or intimidation.

This clinic is a great opportunity to really build a wonderful relationship with your horse. The things you will learn at the clinic will help you with your horse and other horses for the rest of your life.

The first day is ground work, the second day is ground work and round penning, and the third day is riding. I also do saddle and tack fitting during the clinic. You will learn how to have fun and be safe with your horse while on the ground and riding. You will learn foot falls and which canter lead horses are on. You will get started understanding and working with Vertical Flexion on your way to collection. Not ready to ride yet? No problem! Participate Friday and Saturday only.
Those days are strictly groundwork.
