Second Chance Horse Rescue & Rehabilitation (SCHRAR)
Kalamunda, Western Australia, Australia
SCHRAR Inc. is a small Incorporated, non profit organisation dedicated to the welfare of all equines in Western Australia. We are run entirely by unpaid Volunteers and we are a self funded organisation.
Second Chance Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation Inc. was established in July 2006 by Jessie Barbour in reflection of the need for an equine specific welfare organisation. Unfortunately as she grew up, Jessie saw many badly neglected horses and ponies, and some brutally treated by their owners and always felt so helpless about the cruelty they faced. When she rescued the pony she had learned to ride on a few years before and gave him a few months of good care before he was put down, the passion for horse rescue was planted firmly in her heart.
In 2006 that passion fuelled the beginning of Second Chance, the organisation starting from scratch with half a dozen starting members and over time escalating into a highly reputable equine rescue and rehabilitation organisation.
Since that time, SC has taken in over 40 equines and assisted with improving conditions for countless of others. As the organisation grows, so too does its services and ability to make a difference in the lives of these noble creatures.

We are governed by a constitution and a management committee comprised of dedicated individuals with a variety of skills relevant to our aims.
We also have a range of services in place to assist all horse owners on many levels. If you are in need of help in regards to any equine related issue we are willing to help.
