The German Shepherd Dog Association of WA aims to advance and improve the breed, and to improve public image of the German Shepherd Dog. The association is affiliated with and is bound by the constitution and Rules of the Canine Association of W.A.(Inc.), from which our own constitution has been drawn up. The GSDA of WA constitution is readily available from the Club Secretary.

The club is a non-profit organization. It is funded in many ways such as membership fees, car rallies, walk-a-thons, raffles, quiz nights, advertising in our magazine, fence advertising around the grounds and proceeds from our shop and canteen. All monies are spent improving the grounds and paying the running costs of the grounds. All our trainers and every one who contributes to the club in some form all do so voluntarily. If it weren't for our volunteers there would be no club for us to enjoy!

Although the GSDA is trying it's very best to improve the standard of breeding with recommended breeding practices, a hip and elbow dysplasia scheme, recommended puppy lists, stud dog registers, and several breed surveys throughout the year, we understand that some people own German Shepherds that were not bred to any standards. We would like to invite these owners of pure bred, but perhaps not pedigree dogs, to join us, train with us, and learn why we need to breed to such standards.

Membership forms are available from the shop at Gosnells or from the Head trainer of your specified grounds. There are several types of memberships: Single $75/yr. Double/Family $75/yr. Junior or Pensioner $69/yr. A once only nomination fee of $15 ($5 Concession) will apply. There are also discounted memberships for those who live in the country. Country Annual Membership:Single:$65, Family/Double:$65, Concession:$59. Your membership will entitle you to join in training classes (Obedience, Show and Agility) plus receive a State Quarterly magazine and a National Quarterly Magazine. You will also be entitled to full voting rights. For our long serving trainers and workers who have done outstanding work for the club over the years we offer them service pins. Bronze for 5 yrs of service, Silver for 10yrs of service and 25yrs of service earns a gold pin.
